A migration safari through Masai Mara, Kenya was the top most item in Subi’s bucket list. As a photographer, Masai Mara was his dream location. He always wanted to go on a safari to Masai Mara, photographing the beautiful landscape and the animals there.
Initially, he started photography as a hobby, taking pictures of his kids and over a period of time it has become a passion. Nat Geo also inspired him a lot to build up his wild-life bucket list destinations. He always loved the images and frames shown by them.
As Masai Mara Called Him
Subi was planning the Masai Mara trip for nearly 2 years and searched a lot to find a safari company who wouldn’t compromise the quality. After a long search, he found one in South Africa. And the entire trip proved that his selection was right. It was a 6 days trip to Mara.
“The last few months before the trip was very exciting though, as I was looking forward to my dream trip each day.”
The moment he steps out of the flight in Nairobi, he was over the moon as it was a dream come true. Also, he felt blessed when he was in a safari vehicle for the first time at Mara, seeing the vast landscape and the animals.
He says that the trip beats his expectations as he saw the wildebeest migrations each day. Also, he was able to see the big-five and some hunting of lion, leopard, cheetah and even crocodile. The other guests told that he was very lucky to see all the hunts in his first safari trip itself, as some of them have been traveling for years and never saw a hunt in action.
He was even bitten by the safari bug. But still, he loved the adrenaline rush when he took the wildlife pictures, as we always expect the unexpected, which keeps us on our toes.
“I managed to add few more destinations to my bucket list and my photography improved a lot. To follow your passion is very satisfying and it brings the best in you every time. Follow your passion and it will never let you down. Not many people get the opportunity to do what they love. But if you keep up your passion, it will keep you going.”
He has completed his second bucket list, which was a safari at Mana pools, Zimbabwe. His lists currently are trips to Kabini, Corbett, South Luangwa, Zambia, and Tanzania.
