The summer of 2015 was not about to end soon. Gaurav and his two friends, Shesha and Monish already made a plan for the monsoon. It was not a short trip where memories could fade away soon. But it was a road trip to Leh Ladakh from Bangalore. Gaurav was keen to accomplish this bucket list from many years.
The main motto of their trip was to experience the diversified culture of India by traveling and staying at most of the places on their way. The trio embarked on a road trip to Leh Ladakh from Bangalore on a Volkswagen Polo.
They first took the NH4 highway and drove their hearts out and took a break in the Pune express highway which is indeed one of the best roads a car enthusiast can experience. After spending time with the serene atmosphere, they drove to Kolhapur and stayed their for the night.
The next day, they were off to Surat after bordering the sultry Mumbai. Surat was no less too when compared to the humid atmosphere of Mumbai. The trio had to drive 250-300kms each on a daily basis so that they had enough time for their power naps. After resting in Surat for a night, they drove to Jaipur, the pink city of India.
The trip demanded them a disciplined routine and this made them to avoid frequent breaks. After a late night stay in Jaipur, they left to Punjab the next day. One doesn’t miss an opportunity to visit the Golden Temple in Punjab and Gaurav and his friends didn’t want to miss too. After seeking the blessings, they left to Srinagar via Jammu.
Gaurav’s Bucket List was just waiting for him at the other end and the trio were on the verge of reaching Leh after resting for a night in Kargil.
They finally reached Leh – Ladakh after covering around 4000+ kms. Their hard work had paid off and the moment they reached there, they felt it was worth the wait. Gaurav’s joy knew no bounds and every hill was like a needle pointing out the sky. After accomplishing his bucket list, Gaurav surprised his friends by taking them to a Skiing event which he had booked earlier.
The experience was pure bliss as it was their first time skiing on the snowy mountains. This bucket list of traveling to Leh was not just about an accomplished activity, it was the about the three musketeers who drove the Volkswagen Polo all the way to Leh Ladakh embracing diversity.
Gaurav’s next bucket list is to travel more such distant places and he is also keen to participate in a few wildlife photography workshops.
