Test a woman and she’ll surprise you. Residing in the beautiful city of Siliguri, near Darjeeling this young lady has given the art of photography in the city, a new direction. Richa Moitra, an avid traveler, is a mass communication graduate and is the youngest female in the city to have pursued photography as a full-fledged passion driven career choice. She has been awarded a memento of recognition by the Governor of the neighboring state of Sikkim for inspiring a lot of women in the state and encouraged them to pursue their long forgotten aspirations. She claimed recognition for her photographs in the cookbook, “Untouched North Bengal.” She finances herself through small projects, and has worked as the director of photography on a short film titled, “Liar,” which is up for views on YouTube. She aspires to learn more about her passion at the New York Institute of Photography.
