The art of nature photography is that simple yet it is more complicated than most professions. The preparation that goes before the camera is pulled out is complex and exhausting. Every shot speaks its own tale. It is the genre of photography that is among the most popular. From the Windows wallpaper on your desktop to curated articles on the web, the style sees numerous enthusiasts flocking to capture that perfect shot. While the most popular destinations stay just that, there are a number of beautiful places that have evaded the trend and remain unexplored. Some of such locations are the following.


Gaganachukki and Shivanasamudra Falls, Karnataka

With the magnificent beauty of two waterfalls, Shivanasamudram, the place that hosts them, provides some breathtaking shots. Capturing the water falling at rapid speed hitting the surface with a splash is an amazing sight. The falls can be reached by hiring a cab or a taxi while the nearest railway station is in Mysore. The best time to visit them is between August to February.


Khajjiar, Himachal Pradesh

Nicknamed the Mini-Switzerland of India, the town is a sprawling beauty situated in Himachal Pradesh. It is an eclectic mix of lakes and pastures and preserves the scent of old-age India in its heart. The town can be reached by hiring a taxi from Chamba or Dalhousie. Though the town is a sight to see all round the year, it can get a little difficult to access during heavy snowfall in the winters.


Maravanthe Beach, Karnataka

For beach photography, there are plenty of options available but what sets the Maravanthe beach apart from the crowd is its sheer beauty. The place is a marvel to look at and getting a picture-perfect shot here is a piece of cake. The place is accessible easily via Kundapur while the summers is the best time to visit.


Dzukou Valley, Nagaland

Dzukou valley beautifully straddles the border between Manipur and Nagaland. Camp out a night and click some beautiful landscapes pictures. The Valley is known for its wide varieties of flowers with the most famous one being Dzukou Lily.

The place can be reached via Visvema village in Nagaland and the flora is in full bloom between July to September.

Nanda Devi, Uttarakhand

Now this place calls for some adventure as well. Trek to its peak and take a bird’s view shot of the mind-blowing beauty beneath.  The pristine beauty of the towering giant will make for some captivating shots. The season lasts from May to October every year.

So, don’t wait another moment, pick your camera, a few clothes, items of necessity and go backpacking to one these places and dive into the world of nature photography!
