At a distance of 110 kms from Mumbai, Murud Janjira is a small village in the Raigad district. The place is known for its architecture marvels, its forts as well as its beautiful beaches. It is also famous for the Garambi Falls which are gurgling in the monsoon. The beauty of the place is breathtaking especially in the monsoons.
Derived from the Marathi word Maval meaning towards the sunset, this place is a paradise for water sports. Water activities like kayaking, rafting are practiced here in abundance. Camp out a night under the starry sky and take in everything Maval has to offer.
Sitting proudly in the lap of the Sahyadri ranges of the Maharashtra, Bhandardara boasts of unspeakable beauty. The village has a lot of offer with waterfalls and hiking trails alike. The place is famous for the Umbrella Falls as well as the Wilson Dam. The tranquility of the place is enough to make this getaway a memorable one.
The 2km long beach is often visited for being close to Mumbai yet being far away from it in its character. Lined with swaying coconut trees, the beach is a perfect beauty to visit. Besides the Manori beach, you can also visit the Nath Sampradaya Ashrams and Global Vipassana Pagoda. The place lies at only a 22km away from Mumbai.
Located at only 75km away from Mumbai, Durshet is a small village nestled amidst the Sahyadri ranges of Maharashtra situated near the banks of river Amba. It sits beautifully between two Ganesh temples of Pali as well as Mahad. It is a great weekend getaway as it not very far to travel and is a sight to behold especially in the monsoons.
