When you seek something and it seeks you back, there is a bigger chance of accomplishing your dreams. In the case of Dheeraj M Nanda, he is not just obsessed with scuba diving and underwater photography but also is one among the rare youngsters who know what gives them the zeal to stay focused and determined.
At an age of 17, he is already a certified scuba diver, an underwater photographer, wildlife enthusiast and an avid cyclist.
After a brief stint in wildlife photography and getting his bucket lists accomplished, Dheeraj never preferred comfort zone and took up an advanced Scuba Diving course in 2012 and completed more than 90 dives underwater till late 2015.
In May 2017, he left for Malaysia for the big day, his 100th underwater experience was waiting for him at the other end of the tunnel, he was ready for the calling as this was his core bucket list to accomplish.
Passion never comes easy, at some point of time, there is motivation required too. Dheeraj had that in the form his supportive parents who recognized his potential and zeal to accomplish major bucket lists. Not just that, when he left for Malaysia this summer along with his parents, his passion for Scuba Diving at a very early age motivated his mother to take it up and guess what? His mother did her first dive under water along with him.
After completing 5 dives in the first week of May, Dheeraj also found solace in clicking few pictures of turtles and jacks under water.
When asked about what kept him going, he chuckles and says, “When the Oceans never stop calling, I should never stop going”.
On May 29th this year, Dheeraj finally bucket listed his 100th dive in the Pulau Mabul Islands of Malaysia. His 100th dive turned out to be the best as he witnessed pilot whales and few rare species of sharks for the first time.
In the coming months, he is planning to take his photographic skills to an aerial mode and wants his experience to play a contribution towards the wildlife conservation.
He wants to visit Sri Lanka, Andaman Islands, and Indonesia in the coming months so he can continue his underwater stories over there and get his other bucket lists accomplished.
